Clean Technology
Clean technology refers to various processes, products, and services that harness renewable materials and energy sources and reduce or eliminate the use of natural resources, emissions, and waste. Clean technology can improve operational performance, productivity, and efficiency. Investments in clean technology, involving wind, solar photovoltaics, and biofuel technology, have grown significantly.
Clean technology arose with increasing understanding and awareness of global warming, climate change, and the impact of fossil fuels on the environment. Analysts have forecast that by 2018, the three main clean technology sectors – solar photovoltaics, wind power, and biofuels – will have reached more than $325 billion in revenue.
